The Road Condition Management Group (RCMG), on behalf of the UK Roads Board, leads on the development and the consistency of Road condition data as used by highway authorities throughout the UK. This information is often the backbone, via accredited condition surveys, for the delivery of transport services on local roads as well as being the engine that drives transport asset management plans and strategies
Membership of the group includes Local Highway Authority representation from Wales, Scotland and England, DFT, National Highways, TfL, Transport Scotland, Welsh Government, Northern Ireland, and relevant Industry Consultants and Contractors, all experts in the field of Highways Condition Surveys and its associated software.

The current key focus of the group is to;
• Provide oversight of current road condition standards through UKPMS, SCANNER and Visual survey accreditation and audit until new standards are in place
• Input to DfT road conditions standards review
• Provide input to review of Code of Practice as it relates to Road Condition
